By Road:

From the West:

Take the A259 coast road from the west via Hastings, Icklesham and Winchelsea. The right hand turning (Harbour Road) to Rye Harbour is clearly marked as you approach the outskirts of Rye town, just after you enter the 30mph limit. Follow the road over the lock gates and continue approximately 1.5 miles to the village of Rye Harbour, passing through the Industrial Area. Grit your teeth going through this bit – l promise it does improve on the other side! The Old Vicarage at Rye Harbour is at the very end of Harbour Road on the right.

Approaching from East or North through Rye Town

Pass through the town, following the signs to Hastings. At the roundabout by the Heritage Centre and Kettle o Fish Chip Shop take the A259 to Hastings / Winchelsea, you drive over the river, approximately ¼ mile further on past the car parks and Health Club there is a left hand turn signposted to Rye Harbour. This is Harbour Road. Follow the road over the lock gates and continue approximately 1.5 miles to the village of Rye Harbour, passing through the Industrial Area. By Rail

There is a regular train service running hourly from London (St Pancras) to Rye taking approximately 1hour 15 minutes; From Ashford International to Rye taking approximately 35 minutes and from Hastings to Rye taking 20 – 30 minutes.

There are taxis available outside of the station or you can take the hourly bus service from Rye Station which takes just 7 minutes and stops right outside The Old Vicarage at Rye Harbour (see below).


By Bus

There is a good and regular bus service connecting the surrounding villages to Rye town. From here (Monday to Saturday) there is an hourly service (from 8am to 5pm), which takes just 7 minutes to Rye Harbour and stops right outside The Old Vicarage at Rye Harbour.
