Stone’s Throw

We are pleased to be able to offer guests a self-catering option at The Old Vicarage.

Completely self-contained, the conversion offers a compact, open-plan, & modern self-catering studio for two people.

Built above the garage you have your own front door with the open-plan living accommodation on the first floor providing king size bed, comfortable leather corner sofa, dining table & chairs and a well-equipped kitchen. The spacious shower room is on the ground floor.

Self-catering is just that, no B&B full English breakfast cooked for you, but there is a great little café on the slipway opposite the Lifeboat Station that serves very good and generous breakfasts every day if you don’t fancy getting your own.

Named Stone’s Throw because you, quite literally, are a ‘stone’s throw’ from the harbour; the beach; the pub; the nature reserve; a convenience shop; the Avocet tearoom & art gallery; and the Bosun’s Bite café. If you are happy with a relaxed pace of life and like to be close to nature it would be quite possible to park your car up at the beginning of your holiday and not touch it again until it was time to leave. We are right on the doorstep of the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve giving endless possibilities for experiencing the many diverse habitats and taking in the massive skies. If you like to stay a bit more connected to the outside world, the free WiFi is a good speed and there is a Smart T.V. & Bluetooth speaker.

Stone’s Throw is for a maximum of two people, (sorry – no children, babies or dogs) and for a minimum of 3 days. The accommodation is all on the first floor, but with the toilet and shower room on the ground floor – so you need to be happy with using the stairs.  The stairs are narrow, but well-lit with a handrail.  For weekly stays the changeover day is usually Saturday but we are flexible if we can be. Rates vary depending on the time of year.
